About STEM Futures Consulting
Our Mission
Established in 2021, STEM Futures Consulting Company is a strategic consulting firm dedicated to advancing national STEM education, research competitiveness, and workforce development. We partner with a variety of institutions, including universities and colleges(such as Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-serving Institutions, and many others), nonprofits, K–12 programs, and scientific societies, to design and implement focused strategies that drive measurable impact across the STEM ecosystem.
Our mission is to transform ideas into competitive STEM futures by helping institutions and organizations strengthen their research capacity, foster inclusive excellence, and create pathways that connect innovation with opportunity. Through intentional partnerships across academia, government, and community sectors, we build sustainable systems that empower all communities to participate and thrive in the nation’s STEM enterprise.
Our Services
STEM Futures Consulting leads national workforce grant development initiatives, program evaluation efforts, and partnership development to advance STEM education and strengthen institutional research competitiveness. We collaborate with Minority-Serving Institutions and emerging research universities—including NYU, the University of Illinois Chicago, and Jackson State University—to enhance their competitiveness through proposal development, grant writing, and strategic training.
Our team serves as Principal Investigators on National Science Foundation (NSF) awards, advancing inclusive practices with STEM education, national collaboration, and building internal networks within scientific societies. We design and facilitate equity-centered professional development trainings that integrate community perspectives into workforce programs—fostering trust, increasing engagement, and improving outcomes.
We also organize equity-focused workshops and symposiathat unite academic and community stakeholders, integrating students’ lived experiences into undergraduate curricula to enhance engagement and retention.
As thought leaders in inclusive STEM practices, our team co-edited the book, Building Inclusive Scientific Communities and Leadership focused on equity and inclusion in science, contributing to the communications and storytelling infrastructure for academic and scientific societal partners.
